Positive Thinking – The H.E.R.O Programme

Description

This transformative two-day workshop empowers learners with the leadership skills, knowledge, and tools to develop the ‘HERO’ in the people they lead, while also nurturing their own potential to become a ‘HERO’ for themselves and others. Through a combination of experiential learning activities, Fish Bowl discussions, reflective exercises, and group presentations, participants will engage in hands-on practice and gain actionable insights.

Day 1 focuses on understanding personal and professional thought constructs, the power of positive thinking, and the ‘HERO’ framework’s role in leadership and workplace dynamics. Learners explore Leadership Emotional Intelligence, covering self-awareness, trigger points, and the foundational elements of Hope and Efficacy to strengthen their leadership approach.

Day 2 begins with group storytelling to reinforce Day 1 learning, followed by sessions on building Resilience and Optimism within oneself and others. Participants also learn the ACE & GROW model to address personal and practical needs, culminating in a personal leadership action plan and storytelling on their HERO journey.

The HERO in positive thinking

  • Understand the ‘HERO’ acronym & linkage to positive thinking.
  • Know why it is important for human performance effectiveness & success.
  • How does this ‘HERO’ play out in leadership & workplace?

Leadership Emotional Intelligence

  • Understand what LEI is about & impact on human
    performance & behaviour & developing HERO.
  • Understand self -awareness & self-control.
  • Identify trigger points & actions to mitigate triggers

Developing the 1st element: Hope

  • Review the importance of Hope in leadership & leading people.
  • Learn how to build Hope in oneself, in others & in the workplace environment.

Developing the 2nd element: Efficacy

  • Dive deeper into understanding what self-efficacy is all about in human performance.
  • Learn how to develop self-efficacy in oneself & in others.

Day 2

Review Day 1 Learning

  • Each group draws a power visual to tell a story about their Day 1 learning & life journey.

Developing the 3rd element: Resilience

  • Know what resilience is all about.
  • Learn how to develop resilience in oneself & others as a leader.

Developing the 4th element: Optimism

  • Understand what is optimism, negativism & realism.
  • How to develop optimism in oneself, in others & in
    the workplace.

Leadership Skills in developing HERO in others

  • Understand the foundation of human needs: Personal& Practical needs.
  • Learn how to manage the 2 human needs using ACE&GROW model to hold effective conversations to develop the ‘HERO’ in others.
  • Skill Practice using Fish Bowl.
